This policy explains what information moepouyan.com and its tools collect, what happens to it, and the choices you have. The short version: the research tools do their work inside your browser, your uploaded data is not sent to this site's servers, and the only tool that sends anything to an outside service is the Marketing Research Advisor, which is explained below.
1. Who is responsible
The Site is operated by Moe Pouyan, Ontario, Canada. Contact: contact@moepouyan.com.
2. Data you enter into the tools
The Two-Proportion Z-Test Calculator, the Multiple Z-Tests Calculator, the Canadian Sampling Plan Tool, Verbatim Analysis, and Crosstab Studio (the Mapping Tool and the Analyzer) run entirely in your browser. Files you upload and numbers you enter are processed on your own device and are not transmitted to or stored on any server operated by this Site. When you close the page, the data is gone, except as described under "Saved sessions".
3. Saved sessions in your browser
Some tools offer to save your settings or your current session so you can come back to it. This uses your browser's local storage, on your device only. Nobody else can read it, and clearing your browser data removes it. The Mapping Tool keeps the current session so the Analyzer can pick it up in the same browser.
4. The Marketing Research Advisor and AI commentary
The Advisor's questionnaire and recommendation engine run in your browser. If you type something in the optional free-text box at the end, your questionnaire answers and that text are sent to a server function on this Site, which forwards them to Anthropic's Claude API to generate commentary. The function sends nothing else, keeps no copy, and rate-limits requests. Anthropic processes the request under its own privacy policy. Do not include personal information, client names or confidential details in the free-text box.
5. Exports
CSV, Excel, PDF and JSON exports are generated in your browser and downloaded directly to your device. They carry an attribution line naming the tool and this Site, and nothing else is added.
6. Website analytics and hosting
The Site is built on Squarespace, and the tools are hosted on Netlify. Both providers record standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, which are used for security and performance. Squarespace's built-in analytics shows aggregate visit counts. See the Squarespace and Netlify privacy policies for details.
7. Cookies
Squarespace sets cookies that are necessary for the Site to function and, with your consent where required, analytics cookies. You can manage cookies in your browser settings. The tools themselves set no cookies.
8. Contact form and email
If you contact me through the Site or by email, I keep your message and address for as long as needed to reply and follow up. I do not sell or share contact details.
9. Newsletter
If you subscribe to updates, your email address is stored with the email service used to send them, together with the date and source of your consent, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask to be removed at any time by writing to contact@moepouyan.com.
10. Children
The Site is intended for working professionals and students of research and is not directed at children under 13.
11. Your rights
You can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and withdraw consent to the newsletter at any time. Write to contact@moepouyan.com.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated as the tools change. The effective date at the top shows the current version.
